Commissioning & Maintenance

From the tank to the chip.

A clean initial fill and consistent maintenance are the key requirements for achieving the full performance of our Nano-Fluids. The following instructions apply to Tool-X 101 EU as a water-miscible emulsion. The process oils (Tapping Fluid 138, Swiss Screw 175, Machine Oil 180) are used undiluted – no mixing is required.

INITIAL FILLING OF TOOL-X 101 EU IN FIVE STEPS

01 · PREPARE THE MACHINE

Completely drain the tank, lines, and filters and flush with a cleaning agent. Remove all old coolant residues, oil deposits, and chips. After cleaning, rinse 1 to 2 times with a 15% emulsion (corrosion protection).

02 · CHECK WATER QUALITY

Use make-up and replenishment water exclusively according to the manufacturer's specifications. Do not use chloride- or salt-containing additives and do not intentionally alter the water chemistry.

03 · MIX

Add water first, then slowly dose in the concentrate – never the other way around. Recommendation: use an electronic inline mixer for reproducible, precise concentration and fast initial filling; alternatively, work under circulation.

04 · SET THE CONCENTRATION

Read the refractometer value and multiply it by the factor. For Tool-X 101 EU: reading × 2.083 = concentration in %. Replenishment should be carried out exclusively with Tool-X 101 EU.

05 · CHECK PH AND STABILITY

Measure the pH value after 24 h (Tool-X target range: 8.5–9.5). If it deviates, correct with concentrate. Perform an initial visual check of foaming behavior and color stability. Only then put the machine into productive operation.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
INTERVAL ACTION TARGET VALUE / NOTE
Daily Visual inspection – foam, odor, color Stable, odor-neutral, clear
Weekly Refractometer measurement & pH value Target value ± 0.5% · pH 8.5–9.5
Monthly Check tramp oil ingress, bypass cleaning Skimming as required
